'Baahubali': The Mahismati Kingdom Set Declared has Tourist Attraction @ Ramoji Film City

Baahubali Movie Set: The grand sets of Baahubali in Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad have been declared as a tourist spot. Sprawled over 100 acres of land, the spot has been opened for the public to get a first-hand experience of the grandeur of the sets.

The set, which had cost a whopping Rs 60 crore, has turned out to be a major tourist attraction. The massive setup is sprawled across a massive area of 100 acres. Exploring the sets would cost one Rs 1,250 in case it’s a general tour, (entry time 9 am to 11:30 am) and 

For tourists, the packages on offer include a general tour priced at Rs 1,250 and premier tour priced at Rs 2,400. There are special packages for corporate entities, schools, and colleges.You can book your tickets on Ramoji’s official website although the bookings are available only until December 14 for now.

"Owing to public demand, now the sets are open until the January, which will immensely benefit the tourists for the ensuing holiday season of Christmas, New Year and Sankranti," Ramoji Film City said.

A studio official told Mid- Day, “A cumulative of over Rs. 60 crores was spent on creating the sets of the film over two parts. Besides the set, some props to have been retained for visitors to see. We have many film students, cinema lovers, and even general public visiting us. At the moment, it’s the spot that is attracting maximum tourists for us.”

The Baahubali producer Shobu Yarlagadda went on to add that the initial idea was put forth by Ramoji Film City itself. “The officials at Ramoji approached us with the idea and we were happy to oblige. It took us months to create the set and we were anyway planning to retain the set for later use.

What better than to feel that we’ve created something for posterity. We work with Ramoji on a regular basis. There need not be a monetary arrangement between us. Our relationship goes beyond that,” said Shobu Yarlagadda, according to an NDTV report.

Baahubali: the Beginning and Baahubali 2: the Conclusion was among the most phenomenal hits in the history of Indian cinema.The film, directed by SS Rajamouli, starred Prabhas as Baahubali with Anushka Shetty and Tammannah Bhatia playing the female leads. 

The film had an ensemble of stars in the cast including Rana Daggubati, Nasser, Sathyaraj, Ramya Krishnan and others.Produced by Arka Media Works’ Shobu Yarlagadda and Prasad Devineni, the film was made on a budget of Rs. 450 crore and went on to collect over Rs. 1,600 crores.

It was released in various languages including Tami, Telugu, Malayalam, and Hindi. The film won several awards including the Best Feature Film at the 63rd National Film Awards.
