Brahmotsavam Movie Review and Rating Hit or Flop: Brahmotsavam Movie, a celebration. Trailer of the movie looked colorful and captivating. Starring Mahesh Babu, Samantha, Kajal Aggarwal in the lead roles. The movie is directed by Srikanth Addala and produced by Prasad V Potluri on PVP Cinemas banner. Music is composed by Mickey J Meyer. Going by the trailer, it is a story of a man who is trying to know about the roots of his family. Let’s review the movie.

Brahmotsavam Movie Story: Sathya Raj is an owner of a paint company worth of four hundred crores which are started with four hundred rupees given by Rao Ramesh father. Sathya Raj always tries to keep his family in a close bonding. He is very good at heart and gives anything to the benefit of the family. Rao Ramesh is jealous of Sathya Raj and he always hates Sathya Raj for his behavior and wealth. Rao Ramesh plans to marry his daughter (Pranitha Subash) with Sathya Raj’s son (Mahesh Babu).
They all go on a family tour during which Rao Ramesh sees Mahesh kissing and hugging Kajal Aggarwal and leaves from the tour without telling anyone. He burst out his jealousy and anger on Sathya Raj and his family and dismantle his bonding with Sathya Raj family. Hurt by this, Sathya Raj dies by telling his last wish to Mahesh Babu. How Mahesh solves all the problems and keeps the family together is the rest of the story.
Performance: Mahesh Babu is terrific in his role. He simply turned into magician doing magic with his screen presence and his well-written thought provoking dialogues. Kajal Aggarwal and Samantha Ruth Prabhu are nice. Sathya Raj did a fantastic role. Revathi, Jayasudha, Thanikella Bharani, Subhalekha Sudhakar did to the extent of their role. Rao Ramesh is fantastic in his role right from his mannerisms to his diction. Naresh, Shayaji Shinde, Pranitha Subash, Rohini Hattangadi are good. Other supporting casts are good.
Positive Points: The rolling titles of the movie were interesting and represented the family tree of the Ikshvakus. A lot can be spoken about the movie’s visuals and sets. Mahesh Babu’s chemistry with Kajal and Samantha is worth watching. Rao Gopal Rao’s animation in the movie came as a surprise.
Negative Points: Brahmotsavam is a slow paced movie that tests the audience’s patience. There are no fan moments in the film where one can talk about. To keep the audience glued to the screen, there has to be entertainment which was lacking in Brahmotsavam. The movie was more like listening to a two and half hour lecture.
Technical Aspects: Mickey J Meyer’s music is a huge asset as all the songs have been shot wonderfully. Major credit should go to Ratnavelu for his breath taking camera work. If not for his visuals, the film would not have turned out the way it did. Every scene is so nicely light up and especially the songs and outdoor locations, they have been showcased in a superb way.
Production values by PVP are awesome as every frame looks rich and grand. Coming to the director Srikanth Addala, his screenplay is quite simple but it is his dialogues that are simple and clean. Had he worked out more in the second half and added some better family drama instead of too much travel, the out put would have been even better.

Verdict: On the whole, Brahmotsavam is a film which has some decent moments going its way. This is not your regular dance and fight movie and has simple emotions. Mahesh Babu’s performance, family emotions, and huge star cast are basic assets. If you ignore the predictable nature of the storyline and some boring moments during the second half, this is one film which can be easily watched with your family this summer.
