REVIEW: Now that Mohan Raja has shown that he can do original movies, Mithran Jawahar has enhanced the go-to guy for remaking a flick. Meendum Oru Kadhal Kadhai is a alter of Malayalam gross Thattathin Marayathu, which is an honestly fair film as far as remakes perform. In this sense, it is on equal ground with Bangalore Naatkal, another transform of a Malayalam movie that is famous among youths in the state.
STORY : The Meendum Oru Kadhal Kadhai Movie story revolves around Vinodh (Walter Philips), a happy-go-lucky boy, whose following of Mani Ratnam’s Bombay at an impressionistic age result in a craze for the purdah. And his dream comes true when he falls into Ayesha (Isha Talwar). That contact results in a fall — straight for the girl, and of the head-over-heels character for Vinodh. And thus starts his single-minded quest of the girl. But still, if she does love him, will her orthodox family, headed by her dictatorial uncle Abdul Khader (Nasser), a diplomat, agree to the marriage?
PERFORMANCE : While Isha has reprised her role from the original to perfection, Walter Phillips' act looks natural, which is a surprise from an actor who is doing his first film as the lead. His ability to carry off some of the comical lines with ease is a plus, and the boy is not bad when it comes to romancing his on-screen pair as well. Arjunan adds stability with his one-liners, which manages to evoke laughter. In fact, he plays a big part in keeping the screenplay fairly engaging.
ANALYSIS:The director managed to narrate the first half of the movie in a fantastic way as it is related to the story and has a gripping screenplay. But coming to the second half, it looks vague. The editing work is crisp and neat. Overall it is a routine love story with a hectic scenario.
